18th AGILE Conference on Geographic Information Science: “Geographic information Science as an enabler of smarter cities and communities”

Call for Papers

On behalf of the AGILE council, we invite you to participate at the 18th AGILE International Conference on Geographic Information Science, scheduled to take place in Lisboa, Portugal.

The program will offer parallel paper presentation sessions, keynote sessions, poster sessions and pre-conference workshops to share your ideas, explore on-going research, future developments, including state-of-the-art applications, and to network with the professionals from academia, industry, and government who are interested in promoting GI teaching and research activities among GI laboratories at the European level.

Results of the survey on energy mapping

On June 2014 an online survey has been launched to collect information about the need for automatic large-scale assessment of building energy behaviour, based on “location” information (geodata) available from public registers (e.g. cadastre, urban planning data etc.). Continue Reading

 

Benchmarking Energy Sustainability in Cities Scientific Workshop

The aim of this workshop (WS) is to address the use of benchmarking techniques in energy efficiency and sustainability as a management tool in the context of urban and local community actions towards sustainability.

Furthermore, the WS will identify and discuss methodologies and tools to measure urban sustainable energy and energy efficiency in cities, i.e. benchmarking.

INSPIRE-GWF 2015

Call for abstracts

Date and Place: 25th – 29th May 2015, Lisbon – Portugal

The INSPIRE Conference and Geospatial World Forum 2015 will be jointly organised on 25-29 May 2015 in Lisbon, Portugal. The joint conference will carry the theme Convergence: Policies + Practices + Processes via PPP, which aim to address the need for greater coordination among policy-makers, technology providers and users to benefit the industry, and to highlight geospatial workflows as an enabler for successful PPPs by facilitating more informed decision making among the stakeholders.

The Program Advisory Board is pleased to invite abstracts to be presented in thematic sessions, posters and for workshop proposals at the conference. Being the first joint effort between European Commission and Geospatial Media and Communications, the conference promises to be an exciting platform to showcase best practices and interchange of ideas among geospatial community at regional and global level.

Submission is open until 15th November 2014. Proposed scope, technical themes, submission guidelines and important dates are available on conference website. Any further queries can be sent to the conference secretariat at papers@geospatialworldforum.org.

 

Online survey on energy density mapping

An online survey has been recently published to collect information about “automatic large-scale assessment of buildings’ energy behaviour”.
The idea is that the information on energy performance of buildings, if georeferenced, can be used to automatically create urban-scale “energy density maps” (or “ecomaps”), useful inputs for planning activities and large-scale energy purposes.
This is strictly related to the “Green Energy” scenario of our project, but also other partners/pilots are kindly asked to fill in the questionnaire (it takes only 10 minutes).
